Two of those Mexican Heavyweights are in action this Wednesday as the unbeaten Cesar Escareno (1-0, 1) takes on the win-less Rogelio Morales (0-3). Hard to say much about this but we Escareno to be the bigger man, having weighed in at 280lbs for his debut whilst Morales was 224lbs for his most recent bout. Although win-less Morales does have the better quality on his record and he may well be able to spring the unexpected victory here.
Going back just a few years and the Mexican Heavyweight scene didn't exist. All of a sudden however we've seen a number of Mexican Heavyweights in action, crawling around in the shadow of Andy Ruiz Jr.

To kick off the weekend we seem to have an oddly quiet friday with just three bouts currently listed with two of those in Mexico and the other in Canada
In the Lac Leamy Casino, Quebec, the unbeaten Zachary Bunce (1-0, 1) looks for his second successive win this year. The 28 year old Bunce will be returning to the city where he made his debut to face Lithuanian Imantas Davidaitis (1-2, 1). Although Davidaitis is the more exprienced professional he's been found wanting in 2 of his 3 bouts to date and it's unlikey Bunce's team will have been willing to bring him over to Canada if he was a real threat to their man Bunce isn't the only unbeaten Heavyweight in action, and in Monterrey, Mexico Cesar Escareno (0-0) looks to enjoy a successful debut. The debuting Escareno takes on man mountain Pedro Marquez (2-1, 1) whose average fight weight appears to be in the 280's. The Escareno/Marquez bout is one of two on the card in Monterrey with the other seeing winless pair Lawrence Elizondo and Rodolfo Alfaro (both 0-1) in action. We don't really know much about either man other than that Elizondo was stopped inside a round by Marquez back in May whilst Alfaro, a Cruiserweight, has been in active since March 2012. |
